dc.description.abstractIntroduction: In recent years, the development of emotional intelligence among nursing leadership has been seen as a key factor in providing better quality nursing care. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to introduce concepts such as leadership and emotional intelligence and to transmute them into the practice of nurses-managers. Reference is also made to the importance of education in the development of emotional abilities by nurses-leaders. Method: An attempt was made through a literature review to analyze the basic concepts (Emotional Intelligence-Leadership), as well as reviewing research articles on the use of terms in nursing administration. Results: Effective nursing leadership can improve the overall quality of health care services provided, through the development of emotional intelligence. Conclusions: Emotional intelligence is an integral dimension of effective leadership. In addition, training in the applications of emotional intelligence by health organizations and nursing schools is particularly important.en_US
