dc.description | The transition to Industry 5.0 (5IR) is an emerging trend that focuses on the integration of cutting-edge technologies like the Internet of Things, robotics, and artificial intelligence to revolutionize production processes and enhance productivity. The primary objective of Industry 5.0 is to foster economic growth and increase competitiveness. However, a crucial question remains: Can we successfully integrate environmental and social concerns into this technological revolution? This chapter explores the concept of 5IR, the transition from Industry 4.0 to 5IR, and its potential impact on social and environmental issues. It also seeks to understand the challenges and opportunities that arise when striving to incorporate social and environmental issues into technological innovation. The main research question of this chapter is, how can we leverage technological innovation to create a harmonious and mutually beneficial relationship between industry and society, moving beyond purely economic and technological considerations to prioritize essential environmental and social dimensions. | en_US |
