Abstract: | The paper examines the parameters influencing the formation of literary schools within the framework of Cultural History. Employing methodologies which are derived from both Literary Theory and Cultural Studies, its objective is to illuminate the ongoing dialogue between literature and the socio-cultural milieu of each era. Recognizing the substantial impact of literary and artistic movements on creative output, the article endeavors to elucidate the boundaries, potentials, and ruptures inherent in their examination within cultural history, as well as their interplay with social history and the intellectual movements of their respective periods. The arguments presented underscore the need for a shift in approach towards the study of literary schools, emphasizing both the usefulness of terminologies in analyzing aesthetic trends and the requisite flexibility inherent in any form of classification within literary theory and criticism. |
