Abstract:
Since the very first periods of human history, when man stopped living individually, but preferred to accommodate himself in organized teams, the matter of social influence has begun to employ us. From day one until nowadays, is totally clear that this agent acted a crucial part for the development of our society. This study attempts to cover completely all the consecutive phases that the matter of social influence recorded through human history, beginning from the ancient period, where the only available implement was the verbal language, culminating in the modern era of computermediated communication, Internet and social media. Additionally, we itemize what has been already stated from the scientific community regarding this matter in order to conclude to our study about its implementation on the contemporary time. Consequently, as nowadays social media provide unprecedented possibilities, we assumed that it would be really interesting trying to map practically the formation of the most important users existing in such teams. Working on this direction, we chose to study the common interest group of Greek parliament members and its interaction on Twitter. Using as collection and analysis tools, the programming language of Python and Microsoft Excel accordingly, we attempted to spot a light on the way that leadership can take place, which apply influence, observably or less blatantly, in the exchange of messages and information between team’s members.
