Abstract:
This study reports on a project that connects public and private initiatives to enhance students' learning. The project started in 2015 and was initiated by the Hellenic Exchanges Shareholders Association (SED), a not-for-profit organisation acting on behalf of minority shareholders of the Athens Exchange Group. The project is repeated annually and is articulated in various stages. It involves meetings of students with market experts and executives, visits to the Athens Stock Exchange and the premises of other companies, students' participation in the general assembly of selected companies, workshops, research and dissemination of results. We used qualitative methods to explore the success of this scheme. In-depth interviews with student participants revealed a successful way forward to support students' deep learning, interaction and development of skills and competencies.
