Abstract: | Although the Greek economy has come out of its capital controls regime, the reasons that have caused it are still being investigated in order not to be repeated in the future. The present study aims to investigate this problem from a macroeconomic perspective. The survey was conducted using descriptive statistics and is based on a longitudinal evaluation of the key figures of the Greek economy and the banking indicators. At the same time, a comparative analysis, before and after the imposition of capital controls, is carried out. The paper analyses the structural weaknesses of the Greek economy and suggests the required structural changes. |
