Abstract: 
The present study investigates the use of “time-out” in the preschool age by pedagogues, who educate young children one to three years old. The research takes place at ten nurseries schools of Athens by using observational research. According the results the pedagogues use the “timeout” often in their classrooms due to the fact that children are very young. However, pedagogues do not take into account the developmental stages and the individual rhythm of each child. The use of “time-out” appears to
be ineffective as young children lead to insecurity or anxiety.
